Maybe had the chat channels turned off.

As for the Spanish people calling the OP an "ignorant immigrant", if it makes you feel any better, we had a group of maybe 10 Spanish kids shopping in our store the other day (they were here for the hockey game I'm guessing), and they were trying on everything and just throwing it around. So my manager simply said, "Look, I dunno how things work in your country, but if you're not going to buy something, get the **** out. Can you understand that?" And they left.
So I mean.
Really, in a sense I feel general humanity is developing stronger ignorance every day. Whether my manager was wrong in telling them to leave his store, and by the way he did it? That's a morality issue. But for the sake of JUST morality, them calling you an ignorant immigrant simply for saying hi, to me, that is out of line, and I probably would have complained as well.
But honestly.
These complaints come in at least twice a day if not more/less, and they are always stating that rude people are getting worse.
Time to clue in:

It's never going to get better, nor are they ever going to stop.

Arrogant fools will always be arrogant fools so long as they live/breath in a world filled with other arrogant fools, why? Because they feed off each other.
One rude person sees another rude person, and bam, they think it's okay to take everything out on someone else for a simple mistake that affected them.
What I don't understand is why people get so mad in PUGS.
It's a PUG.
It doesn't affect your well being in any way, so if say, a Monk isn't being helped by his fellow teammates, why then my they always resort to ragequitting? Why not try again and HELP the group HELP him. Give advice? That's what teamwork is all about.
It's not an alliance battle. You don't have a town at stake. Bollocks.
The fact of the matter is, the gaming world consists of two people, sorry, three: Newbies, regulars, and elitists.
We have TOO MANY elitists, and the number of new players is rapidly increasing. Because of this, the elitists continue to grow more elite. Not because they are honing their skills, but because the number of new players far exceeds the number of elitists, thus they worked harder to get to where they are.
And when you get one elitist in your group, the group does and listens to whatever that elitist says. Which is basically nothing, but "NO NOOB OVER HERE, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, RUN THIS WAY, NO, YOU IDIOT, WHY ARE YOU KILLING THAT CATAPULT ENGINEER, WE'RE SUPPOSED TO GO THIS WAY! WHY IS EVERYBODY AT THE CATAPULT. ****, YOU NOOBS GOT ME KILLED. I WAS FIGHTING LIKE !#)$!@$& OF THESE MURSAAT." *Ragequits*.
When really.
The player was probably standing in a mob of mursaat typing all that, while getting pummelled on, not realising that his armor is not infused.

There is no teamwork when it comes to elitists unless they are in PvP with their own guild of fellow arrogant fools. Unless of course, the guild sadly decided to recruit such a person not realising that they will never, ever, be of any benefit or help because they already think they're better than the guild and should be promoted to officer.

It's never going to end. So put up with it.
And if worse comes to worse, know you are better than anybody that gets angry and takes RL issues out on fellow players IN GAME. Actually, know that you are better than anybody who decides to start an E-fight in general. It's lame and a waste of time. And the most you can do is keep trying, and keep fighting and playing the missions they biff you over on.

Thunderhead Keep is beatable with 'noobs', you just have to work together, and fight the same fight.

But there ARE people out there that are very self conscious, and you lowering their self image won't help them, you relieving your stress, could more than JUST stress them out, please, think about others, before relieving your own anger on them.

a couple of observations:

one, the internet is a tool that many use to vent on.
two, many of the people playing guildwars are school age and can not use the language they are using on gw at school, so they use it on line where no one can stop them (to a certain extent).
three, you are very annonymous on the internet so people feel 'freer' to say things they would not normally say in public.

this equals rude people........
answer= ignore them (though it usually makes them mad)....or play with people you know and trust. I tend to like henchies because they dont care and are never rude!

I beg to differ, the new monk healer in night fall called me a wuss.

As for rude people on the net? well you get used to it after a while i suppose, but you people who take there anger out on faceless peopleover the net... ehm, you try taking that anger out on those same people face to face, see what happens then, usualy those who do such a thing can't do it out side of games .

Rudeness on the internet can't stab you nor put a bullet in your head. It's the internet.

At the end of the day, we all eventually gonna love one another and live in peace and harmony.

amen?

@Griff Mon - the human playing the character might not have been able to read/write well enough to respond. My guildmate's 7-yr-old son plays his necro like a maestro, but can't read or type fast enough to hold a conversation, so he doesn't try. We use TS for guild groups.

OP - leaving the game is not always voluntary. I ended up henching my monk through Northern Shiverpeak missions due to constant 007 when I joined a group. I took my annoyance out on my broadband provider for overselling the bandwidth. I now have a new provider and less drop-outs. But I am sure to this day, members of those groups have me on their ignore list.

*sighs* I got into a pug group ONCE when capping outside perdition right before the AOE nerf (happened right after we got back to town). First guy gets out there and goes: g2g
Second: well screw this (leaves)
Everyone agrees we can still do this cause we have henchie monks, so we continue on with me and random 3ppl.
War caps charge which is at the first spawn point and leaves... 2hench monks, me ranger, ele, and random.
We continue on and suddenly 4mins later random guy goes "this is pointless, laterz!"
So I say to ele: "I'm staying to cap mine regardless"
Ele responds: "Same here"

We cleared the rock with a 60dp, he got his cap and stayed till we discovered mine wasn't out there (traveling one). He agreed to go back out with me, but after nearly 2hrs of trying to clear that flippen rock I was spent lol. I thanked him, said I would get it later and 2days later he messages me asking if me or any of my guildies wanna do FoW with his guild. We became pretty close with the other guild, learned how to do FoW and all in all made some excellent friends. They also taught us how to farm SF. He trained me to do UW trapping as well. It was worth it not to quit because our guild made some great friends!

*sighs* Unfortunately that guild died when most of its players moved on to pay2play games ;_; We miss them! They left thier TS server up for us to use though XD

Fact is that it isn't anything new, and for some reason people don't find it worth it to stick it out. Our guild doesn't allow anyone to just up and quit a PUG till it says your party was defeated or the group in general is just so horribly rude that you can't stand them, because more times than naught it's worth it to stick it out even if the majority of the pugs are being arses.

I wish this happened more often.
Any 'friends' I make in-game never volunteer to help at any point, let alone continue to message me at all. If I didn't have a guild, I don't know what I would do.

I dislike people in general; ignorant human being with no sense of direction (especially those with extreme belief’s invested by pride). I feel for the individual’s though (human beings that see things through trivial times), the person who has to deal with the problems that stems from these moron’s; also from the point when they become friends after being acuteness’. In GW it will be no different then the outside world at times. I know one thing though no matters what, I will never leave a group, even though sometimes I hear less desirable things from them. Always remember this, sometimes people get what’s coming for them in the end.

My nec was just attempting Naphui for the first time. She got into a PuG, switched skills to full Curses (had a MM already) and off we went. Everyone went thru the portal except me.......for some reason, I could not trans through the damned thing! I hailed the team what was happening, they told me to keep trying. I tried walking thru forward, backward, from an angle, even at one point stood directly within the glowing damned thing!

Finally, I told them that it seemed to be a glitch (no it wasn't lag, my messages were getting thru immediately) and that I wasn't going to leech, good luck - and had the cursor ready to exit the game altogether. Then at the last second before I hit exit, one of them, rude s.o.b., says "nah, ur a leecher". Oh, how I saw red! Here I'd been honest with them (and if they'd been watching the compass, would've seen me trying!) and was voluntarilly leaving so I wouldn't leech....and an asshat says that!

I've been in parties where leechers were gleeful about their unpardonable behaviour. But to have an ass toss out the comment that was what I was doing, especially after I'd just said good-bye......................

Yes, there are some extremely rude people ingame. This clown was one of the lesser offenders.

Why don't you grow up and realize those kids had problems long before they started playing WoW? People play games for all kinds of reasons, some play to the point where they can focus all their time and energy into a game instead of facing reality or dealing with their problems... Once they loose that they go off the edge. The fact is, it's not the fault of the person who scammed them or flammed them, it's the fault of the people around them for failing to recognize their child was so unstable they'd kill themselves.

Don't blame me for the problems people have. You're so incredibly stupid if I go on I'm gonna get banned...

mm you're the one that said you take your anger out on random people in the internet and its me who needs to grow up? Mirror anyone ?
No ones blaming you but who gave you the right to go around pissing everyone off just because "its the internet" ? Some people might just put you on ignore and not care but trust me there are people that do care and no it is not your fault that they care but since you already know that they have problems like you said that the chinese kids had problems, then maybe you might want to change your attitude if you are so aware that people have "problems", right?

Hey...people wouldn't do that if you can punch them in the face for doing so...this is why you don't see people do so in real life, because you can REALLY punch them in the face.

My feeling is this...It's the internet...I don't know you and you don't know me.
Why the hell do I care what you think?
Flame me, call me names, I just dgaf and at the end of the day, who the hell are you anyway?

Wow....I've said it before, I'll say it again...

This is as useful as a rubber chicken in a gun fight....

Some people are rude (See Oh a GW Forum as example)

Some people are polite (guy in my Palace mission group who took time to compliment my monking when our 2nd monk bailed and others as example)

It's life guys...internet, RL...people are people....ah crap now I have a bad 80's song stuck in my head ahhhhhhhhhhhh!

**stumbles off humming and yanking her hair...
